Ingredients
- 2 T. flour
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 3/4 C. (185 g) sugar
- 1 unbeaten egg
- 1 C. (200 g) sour cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 C. diced apples or peaches (2-3 large)
- 1 (9-inch/23 cm) unbaked pastry crust (p. 210)
Topping
- 1/3 C. (75 g) sugar
- 1/3 C. (40 g) flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 C. (55 g) butter, softened
Instructions
- Sift together the flour, salt, nutmeg and sugar. Add and blend the egg, sour cream, and vanilla.
- Stir in the apples; pour into the unbaked pastry crust.
- Bake for 15 minutes at 400° F (200° C). Reduce heat to 350° F (180° C) and bake for 35 minutes.
- Meanwhile, combine the topping ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle over the pie; increase the oven heat to 425° F (220° C) and bake 10 minutes more.
