Salsa Recipe

Yield: About 3 1/2 cups

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 C. – 4 C. (825 ml) crushed fresh or canned tomatoes
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large clove garlic, crushed or minced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. cumin
  • 1 small can green chilies (or equivalent fresh, chopped)
  • 2 T. minced jalapeno peppers, canned or fresh
  • 1 tsp. cilantro

Instructions

  1. Mix everything together and let it marinate at room temperature for several hours. I prefer to let the whole mixture simmer for 5-10 minutes to release the flavors, before chilling. Store in the fridge for 2-3 weeks.
