Yield: About 3 1/2 cups
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 C. – 4 C. (825 ml) crushed fresh or canned tomatoes
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 large clove garlic, crushed or minced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. cumin
- 1 small can green chilies (or equivalent fresh, chopped)
- 2 T. minced jalapeno peppers, canned or fresh
- 1 tsp. cilantro
Instructions
- Mix everything together and let it marinate at room temperature for several hours. I prefer to let the whole mixture simmer for 5-10 minutes to release the flavors, before chilling. Store in the fridge for 2-3 weeks.
