PICTURE PRAISE Come to Me , all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 When a young pastor took a few days off this Christmas season to draw aside at the Retreat and Conference Center we run, these words of Jesus came to my mind so clearly. I realized how we as His laborers neglect to go to our Master and find rest at His Feet. I also count it a tremendous privilege to provide a place where co-workers can find space to draw aside and be in His presence. ©2016 Thrive.
PICTURE PRAISE By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. 1 John 3:16 I recently had the privilege of returning to my passport country for the birth of my grandson. What a precious time of snuggles, serving, and bonding. All too soon it was time to return to the country that God has called us to. As I held the precious child in my arms for those last moments, my arms literally ached at the thought of letting go and setting him down in his cradle. Then I thought, “What must it feel like for a mother who releases her baby for adoption? What did it feel like for our Heavenly Father to release his precious only son and send him to earth, knowing that the cross awaited him?” Despite the unimaginable pain, our Father did send his Son, the ultimate act of sacrificial love. ©2016 Thrive.
