By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
1 John 3:16
I recently had the privilege of returning to my passport country for the birth of my grandson. What a precious time of snuggles, serving, and bonding. All too soon it was time to return to the country that God has called us to. As I held the precious child in my arms for those last moments, my arms literally ached at the thought of letting go and setting him down in his cradle. Then I thought, “What must it feel like for a mother who releases her baby for adoption? What did it feel like for our Heavenly Father to release his precious only son and send him to earth, knowing that the cross awaited him?” Despite the unimaginable pain, our Father did send his Son, the ultimate act of sacrificial love.
