Today we pray for Serving Far from Home

Attendees: Kari, Christiana, Leslie and Krystle

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6

Dear Father,

The needs of our world are great and the women who will be coming to the retreat have responded to those needs by saying, “Here am I. Send me.” But that doesn’t mean they don’t feel the stress of living far from all that is dear and familiar to them.

As they prepare to come to the retreat, may they be reminded You know right where they are, You see their comings and goings and know their highs and lows. There is nothing that they feel that You do not know or understand. May they receive this retreat as a feast you have prepared for them, a rest stop in their busy lives, a safe place for them to come away with you and get some rest.

In Jesus’ name, Amen

Challenges for Prayer

The immigrant and foreign labourer population has swelled to over two million – probably significantly more with illegals included. Most work for very low wages in difficult, often back-breaking, labour. They are mostly Muslim but with some Hindus and Buddhists as well. The Malaysian Church has a wonderful opportunity to reach many unevangelized groups who are right on their doorstep. Pray that Christians might have the vision and the courage to reach out and seize this opportunity.
