Global Woman Highlight | Fiona Killough

I am Fiona and my husband, David, and I with our two young daughters are serving rural people groups in Angola with Overland Missions. We are part of a small team of families pioneering an evangelical work amongst Angola’s tribal groups. We moved here after spending the past 4-8 years (me 4 and him 8) leading short-term teams in the Amazon, Brazil, Mozambique, and Zambia. We are so thrilled to have the honor of bringing the Good News of Jesus to the Mucubal tribe who have mostly never heard the message before.

Our move to Angola has come with many challenges and has stretched us and increased our faith in ways that I never imagined! We’ve seen God walk faithfully before us through hurdle after hurdle and I still pinch myself some days that we’ve finally arrived to this assignment. It took two and a half years to be able to secure long-term visas, in which time we learned a second language (Portuguese), and moved our family internationally twice! He’s been our rock through much uncertainty and insecurity the past few years.

There are many aspects to family life in Angola that are wonderful and we both are passionate about what God is already doing in the people here. We ask for prayer for unity in our relationships. Unity in our marriage, unity with our children, unity with our teammates, and unity with the local churches with whom we are building connections. Pray that we would know how to communicate well and effectively while traversing many different cultures. We also ask for prayer for an ongoing health issue that has been lingering for a number of months.
