PICTURE PRAISE

I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.

Psalm 9:1

This was where we were last week, with our dear family, suspended in time, no real life, only the great joy of having perfect time with our beloved mom, dad, and brothers. It was so energizing to enjoy the great beauty of God’s glorious creation, and that being our only task at hand!

But as we re-enter real life, with routine and responsibility and without our wonderful family, there is a real let-down. I miss them and often wonder if it’s worth it being away from them.
It’s not easy having family so far and best friends moving away to the join them on the opposite side of world. We ache for those people who know us best and love us best.

But I must remind myself that there is so much beauty to be enjoyed right where I am at.

The beauty of my four small learning and growing souls, and loving, steady husband.

The beauty of seeing, learning, and changing from living in another colorful culture.

The beauty of new friendships and deeper community that reveal more of ourselves.

But the most beautiful thing real life gives us is the constant reminder that Jesus must be our closest companion.

And for that I am most thankful.
