Today we pray for…

Attendees: Karen, Luann, Susan B., and Vicki

Being confident in this, that he who began a good work in them [these ladies’ children] will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 (paraphrased)

I believe as mothers, our heart’s desire is for our kids to personalize their faith. The process is at times (most of the time) unlike what we would have imagined. Living away from college-age and adult children (with an ocean between them), not being with children in their first mistakes, depression, jobs, relationships, career choice, and marriage (sometimes meeting their child’s future spouse for the first time only weeks before the wedding), along with grandchildren add up to a lot of loss and a great need of faith that He is in control.

Lord, free mothers from anxiety about their adult children, and give them peace. Reaffirm to attendees that You are greater than anything they face. Help mothers not to blame themselves for things that go wrong in the lives of their children. Redeem parental mistakes and release mothers from guilt. Help these women to forgive their children for things their children do that hurt or disappoint them. Help these women forgive others who have hurt their children in any way. Give attendees faith to believe and patience to wait for the answers. A mother’s heart desire is that each child walk intimately with Jesus.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
