PICTURE PRAISE

I waited patiently for the Lordhe inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.

Psalm 40:1- 3

My sister and I were up at 5:00 am to watch the sun rise from the tallest “mountain” in the area. Shortly after the sun topped the horizon, she clambered up this rocky butte to get a better view of the land around us. We could see the sunlight striking the forests as far as we could see to the west, though we were still in shadow. Her silhouette, one foot lifted but still waiting, struck me. I was ready but had to wait on God in this season. He had made it clear he wanted me to wait, even though I could see pieces of what he was preparing for the future.

Extra thought: this picture brings to mind the song Never Once, by Matt Redman.
