Today we pray for…

Attendees: Ellen and Jill L.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change (James 1:17).

Dear Heavenly Father,

Putting on a retreat for global women is such a privilege, but it does come with a price tag. We are grateful for Your generous and abundant provision for all our needs. As Thrive hosts this retreat, we ask that You provide prayer and financial partners to cover the cost of the attendees’ retreat expenses and provide supporters who will give generously so the volunteers can serve. We ask for Your provision for the travel expenses the global women will incur to be at the retreat. We expectantly lay these needs at Your feet, knowing that all good gifts come from You.

Thank You for the many retreats that You have fully funded. Thank You that You always provide abundantly. You give gifts for us to share with the attendees. You provide the volunteer team who will generously give themselves to the attendees. As we wait for Your good gifts for this retreat, we remember and celebrate You. You are the Source of all we are able to do at the Thrive retreats.

Father, we lift up Mozambique to You. Thank you for the peace that they’ve had since 1995 after 30 years of war. It is one of the world’s poorest nations. Intense suffering has created spiritual hunger and we thank you for the congregations of indigenous Christians that have mushroomed over all the country. Illiteracy, lack of Scriptures, legalism, syncretism, and lack of understanding of Biblical repentance, faith, and new birth is widespread. Yet we thank you God that the desire for teaching and help, wisely and tactfully given, is immense. Lord, please direct and bless the teaching of the various seminaries and Bible colleges, as well as the informal training. May outreach be done in the northern part of the country where there are many unreached peoples. We pray for perseverance in learning Portuguese and local languages, health, safety, and fruitfulness for Your workers.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
