Today we pray…

But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength; Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your loving kindness in the morning, For You have been my stronghold and a refuge in the day of my distress (Psalm 59:16).

Dear Heavenly Father,

Most women long to have children yet some of our volunteers and attendees have not had the joy of holding their little ones. Our unmarried sisters often long for a family of their own. Others, though married, have not been able to conceive or have suffered miscarriages. God, we ask for the miracle of Your comfort for the women who daily feel the emptiness of their arms and struggle to learn contentment in this season of want.

Thank You that You are Lord of Life and the Giver of Life. You are also the Only One Who can give the comfort and encouragement these women desire. Please meet them in a very special way at this retreat and help them to discover how You are meeting this deep need in their heart.

We ask for the other women at the retreat to know how to come alongside their sisters who mourn their barrenness. May they be sensitive and welcoming, may they be willing to listen and hold stories with dignity and compassion. Please help them to realize they can’t fix this problem but they can be a companion in the sorrow and a pathway for You to restore hope and joy to the hopeless and mourning.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
