Today we pray for…

Attendee: Kathryn

Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people; the sheep of his pasture (Psalm 100:3).

You are who You are, Lord God. Thank you for making each of us unique and giving us a true, unshakable identity and security in belonging to You. May we follow your lead, Shepherd, as we journey through life.

Language and culture learning may be some of the most draining, as well as humbling, things about beginning a new life on the field, yet they are also the very things that bring a worker to a place of contentment and effectiveness. Father God, we ask that You give them courage, perseverance and energy for this process. During the retreat, may they each thoroughly enjoy the interaction with other women, in English, who are in or have been in their similar struggles.

We pray for Brazil today.  We pray for the end of endemic corruption, cronyism, injustices of society, and discrimination (against the poor, underprivileged children and indigenous tribal peoples). We pray that Evangelicals may use their growing influence wisely and in biblical holiness and humility.  We also pray for the over-evangelized but underfed converts, many petty legalisms and an enormous rate of of ex-Evangelicals that now are disillusioned with Christianity.  We pray for godly servant leadership, accountable to those to whom they minister. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
