My name is Amy Miller. I came to know Jesus as a 12 year old when I was visiting family on the field in Haiti. (Another story for another day.) I’m now almost 49 and that experience continues to shape me!

A little over four years ago I moved to South Brazil to make disciples and assist in church planting. I’m part of a Brazilian Baptist church that was started by a single female global worker 80 years ago. (I love how God works!) Their vision is to multiply disciples and then to send these disciples out in the world to multiply more disciples and plant more churches. Whether that be here in our city of Porto Alegre, in other parts of Brazil or around the world!

I currently have 3 women that I disciple and one of my disciples is starting to disciple a co-worker. It’s exciting to see these women grow and step out in faith! I also work with a Brazilian couple from my church who were sent out to plant a church in the south zone of the city. In that neighborhood I work with the single and divorced women. I’m excited to see what God is going to do in these ministries this year!

Pray that the Gospel would continue to spread in South Brazil – where less than 3% of the population are true followers of Jesus. The oppression in this part of Brazil is great as many people practice some form of an African spiritist religion.
