_______________ DAY 25 – FIRST DAY OF THE RETREAT_______________

Who can separate these women from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?  NO, in ALL these things, make them MORE than conquerors through him  who loves them. Convince them anew that neither death nor life, angels  nor demons, the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height  nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate them  from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus their Lord.

Romans 8:35–39 (paraphrased)

Sustain these women Lord, through the best of life and the worst. Help them cling to You. Help them remember You, though their flesh and heart may fail, You are the strength of their heart and their portion forever. Carry them and rescue them even when they fight You. Overcome their struggles. Quiet them until they become like a weaned child with their mother.

On this first day of the retreat, as the women arrive, (please bring each of them on time and without complications!) let a sweet spirit of prayer, acceptance, and excitement be evident in each greeting. Envelope each woman with Your presence as they are welcomed. We ask that this be a sanctuary, a safe haven, and a place of peace. Holy Spirit, saturate every detail. May they feel comfortable and “at home”. Bless every encounter with grace, love, and joy. Help them navigate all the various options for their free time.

Father, bless the interactions of each small group; lead them in authentic sharing and listening. Pour out Your presence during the 20-minute sanctuary of prayer time this evening, may they experience a touch of intimacy with You.

Tunisia was once known as one of the more open countries in North Africa. Radical extremists have changed that with several attacks, leaving carnage in their wake. Heavenly Father, we pray that workers there would be used by God to give hope through the Prince of Peace to the vast majority of the population.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
