Jesus prays for His disciples:

Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave  me—so that they may be one as we are one. … My prayer is not that you  take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. …  Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

John 17:11, 15, 17

Today we pray for attendees: Courtney, Holly, Jeanette, Laurel, and Nikki

Lord, we ask that Your Spirit will reveal any areas of unforgiveness among Your workers. We battle an enemy who uses relational wounds to divide us in our goal of seeing Your Kingdom expanded. We pray against unforgiveness between team members (or national partners), grace to accept one another as they are, along with wisdom and perseverance to work in unity. We ask for healing and for truth to purify. May the interaction with others in hard situations lead to forgiveness and freedom.

It would be a challenge to find a country that could match the misery that Iraq has suffered over the last two decades and continues to do so to this day. Car-bombings and assassinations are everyday occurrences as Iraqis seek to climb out of the long tunnel of violence that grips the country. Father, we pray for the church of Iraq as it faces a radical Islam unleashed by the fall of Saddam Hussein. We also lift up the ministries going on in spite of the very real threat of kidnappings and murder. May the Holy Spirit move in a miraculous way in the hearts of the people.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
