_______________________ INTRODUCTION_______________________

Europe is a beautiful country in which to live, yet a deceptively challenging place in which to minister. I welcome you to join me in the next 30 days to uphold these ladies’ arms and hearts while in battle. We have 75 attendees who serve in 24 different countries and 35 volunteers (25 who are first timers!). Some unique ministries include: US military hospitality/Awana, global photo journalism, art and music schools, and work with Muslim immigrants. One attendee is married to an American professional football player (Germany) and another is a quilter.

Praying with you,

___________ DAY 1- STRENGTH IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE___________

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

II Corinthians 10:3-5

Today I/we pray for attendees: Darlene, Lucy, Donna, and Amy

Lord, we pray that the ladies will find the retreat to be a sanctuary of rest from warfare. I/we ask that You guide, protect, and convict them when sin is trying to take root. Strengthen them in battle when Satan attempts to gain a foothold in their hearts. Through Your Spirit, make them sensitive to enemy encroachment; may they run to You to be their stronghold and refuge in times of trouble. May the cry of their hearts be cleanse me from secret faults (Psalm 19:12). Deliver them from every evil work and preserve them for Your heavenly kingdom. Give them strength to combat the lies that infiltrate their thoughts, and replace lies with Your truth.

Father, it must be hard when all your neighbors want a part of you. Literally. Macedonia walks a fine line in forging its own way. As a former territory of Yugoslavia with much ethnic diversity, this country’s characteristics give more to segregation than to harmony. While one of the neediest countries of Europe, it is also one of the most difficult to access with Christian workers. In this country of 2 million plus, the evangelical witness is small but steadily growing. I/we pray for effective partnerships between mission organizations and national ministries. I/we pray that ministries targeting ethnic communities (especially Albanians, Gypsies, and Turks) would see people movements that would prevent sectarian violence that has plagued the neighbors of Macedonia.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
