Today we pray for…

Attendees: Kathy and Cara

There is now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:1-2).

I’m almost positive everyone knows this verse – however, I’m almost equally as sure that many of us (and the attendees) live with an ever-present sense of guilt, shame and not being/doing “enough.”  Jesus, we ask that as we “confess our sins, He is faithful and just and WILL forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9).  May we hear, “I forgive you,” and may we ACCEPT that forgiveness, and walk then in freedom and obedience by the power of the Spirit.  Holy Spirit, during this retreat, would you cleanse each of the ladies and free them to clearly reflect You, live in truth and abundance for Your name’s sake.  We pray for mental, spiritual, and physical protection for every lady as they return home, and ask that they do so more fully in love with You. May today hold multiple divine encounters where You reveal yourself.

Thailand means Land of the Free which is tragically ironic as the country is known for the rampant corruption that permeates society. Child abuse via prostitution and slavery plagues the country. Over 90% of the population is Buddhist whose social and cultural web makes it very difficult to follow Jesus without family consequences. Church growth has occurred largely among those of Chinese descendants. We pray that the church and its leadership would be lights of truth and boldly confront the social ills of the country.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
