Today we pray for…

Attendees: Tawnya and Karen

Who can separate these women from the love of Christ? Shall trouble, or hardship, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? NO, in ALL these things, make them MORE than conquerors through him who loves them. Convince them anew that neither death nor life, angels nor demons, present nor future, nor any powers, height nor depth nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate them from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus their Lord (Romans 8:35-39).

Sustain these women Lord, through the best of life and the worst. Help them cling to You. Help them remember although their flesh and heart may fail, You are the strength of their heart and their portion forever. Carry them and rescue them even when they fight you. Overcome their struggles. Quiet them until they become like a weaned child with their mother.

Today is the first day of the first retreat. Envelope each woman with your presence as they are welcomed. We want them to feel “at home”. Bless every encounter with grace, love, and joy. Help them navigate all the various options for their free time. We ask that they enjoy their small group from the get-go. Pour out Your presence during our sanctuary of prayer this evening (20 minutes of silent prayer), may they experience a touch of intimacy with You. Help them to be entirely “present”, and allow themselves to “let down” quickly, and not worry about work or family.

Malaysia is a country of roughly 30 million people, located on the peninsula jutting south from mainland Thailand and the north part of the island of Borneo. The official religion is Islam claiming over 60% of the population and growing in aggressively seeking to apply sharia law on a national and state level. The church is steadily growing in number and in wisdom in how to minister in an Islamic nation. Lord we ask that the networking between churches and groups would continue to grow. We pray also that conservative Islam would be checked in its push for total control over the lives of Malaysians and the huge Chinese and Indian populations.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
