Today we pray for…

Attendees: Dorothy and Krista

If anyone thirsts, let him COME to me and DRINK. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water (John 7:38).

We are all created with thirst. Only You can truly quench our core. Help us to live dependent upon and interactively with You while engaging in relationships and seeking to be involved in meaningful work. We pray that You will help these ladies identify when they are trying to fill their thirst with things that are substitutes for you.

Many of the attendees home school their children. Juggling multiple ages, various learning styles, and some learning disabilities, while navigating everyone’s transition back to the States, is a daunting task. BALANCE between family and ministry roles is a continual area of tension. Father, grant them an abundance of grace, humor, wisdom, perseverance, and strength. We pray that the kids are instilled with a love of learning that will carry over the gaps that may occur in the curriculum being completed.

Lord Jesus, lead each one to moments of creative rest where she senses your presence. Trying to be supermom, wife, and global woman can drive one into the ground. We pray the opposite will occur, that it drives her to intimate encounters with You. Reach out to each woman in recognizable ways in her possible “dark night of the soul”, renew and deepen her faith, joy, and hope. Create in each one a spirit of thankfulness. Gift these ladies with much laughter during the retreat.

Argentina, like many countries, is a study of paradox, boasting one of the stronger economies of Latin America though the gap between rich and poor continues to widen. The evangelical church is becoming a player in sending global workers around the world but those claiming to be non-religious are the fastest growing segment of the population. Lord, we ray that the evangelical churches would continue to grow in their cross-cultural ministry endeavor as well as effectively ministering to a growing secular mind-set.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
