2015 Colorado Retreat | Don’t Waste Your Life

I just started reading John Piper’s book Don’t Waste Your Life. Although I’ve not gotten very far into it, the title has really inspired me.

We are here in Breckenridge meeting to receive training and to prepare for the 50+ women coming on Tuesday for the Thrive retreat. Hearing the stories from the volunteers about how they’ve heard about Thrive and what God has done in their lives to bring them to this point of coming to volunteer is amazing. God has worked in so many ways individually to make this happen. Some women have recently retired, some own their own businesses, some are still in the middle of raising a family, others are widows. Some have been on many retreats and for several, this is their very first time!

The bond that unites us in our efforts is that we all love the Lord with all our hearts and we want to serve him. We know that we only have one chance in life and our purpose is to bring honor and glory to the Lord. WE don’t want to waste our lives! It’s an honor and a privilege to be a part of this talented and devoted group of women.

When this group of cross-cultural workers arrives I know I want to do my best to listen, encourage, and have fun, and even try to inspire them to continue to serve the Lord with all their hearts!

Only one life,
’Twill soon be past
Only what’s done
For Christ will last.
