Attendees: Renee, Shelly, Brooke, and Heather

Father God, we ask that You will strengthen these ladies with power by your Spirit in their inner beings, so that Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith. We pray that together they will experience the breath, test it’s length, plumb the depths, and rise to the heights of Your love. We invite You to do more than what we could ever imagine in answering this prayer for them (Ephesians 3:15-20).

The cross-cultural community can begin to feel small. Team members represent various nationalities, backgrounds, giftedness, and a variety of ministry focuses. These differences can foster comparison, competition, and perceived differing values. How fast does each team member learn the language? How fast does another see conversions? How do the children in each family adapt to national schools/churches? How do team members choose to furnish their homes (or how big are they)? Other differences include having limited or (more) abundant funds, being single or married, having no kids and having kids, being adventurous and needing to be “hand held” during an orientation period, yielding little or a great amount of visible fruit for the sacrifice and effort of living overseas. All of these things equate to ample opportunity for Satan to cause disunity, discontent, and hurt. Many times this feels like an emotional quagmire. We pray for confession of wrongs, healing of hurts, and rebuilding of trust to unify teams and clearly reflect Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
