Unseen Footprints
  Picture Praise Photography by: Wendy Marshall

The clouds poured out water;
the skies gave forth thunder;
your arrows flashed on every side.
The crash of your thunder was in the whirlwind;
your lightnings lighted up the world;
the earth trembled and shook.
Your way was through the sea,
your path through the great waters;
yet your footprints were unseen.

Psalm 77:17-19

My son is going through some tough times this year. He’s 15 and we’re on home assignment for a year, though he’d rather be back in our country of service. Like the psalmist, he’s finding it hard at times to see God’s footprints in all of this and wondering why his path has lead through the waters of difficulty. Praise God that we know from His word that He is still with us, even in the difficulties, even when we can’t see His footprints, and even when His paths lead us through the sea and the mighty waters.
