At the Thailand Retreat, Thrive is hosting four delegates from around Asia to explore the possibility of other sending nations developing a ministry like Thrive for the women from their nations who serve cross-culturally. It is such a delight to have these four, gifted women on our volunteer team. They are quickly becoming our friends while they observe Thrive’s retreat ministry.
One of our visitors, Dr. Suraja Raman says, “I count it a joy and a privilege to be a guest in this inspiring time of interaction. The retreat aims to extend a helping hand for an ongoing experience and spiritual development in times of stress and overwhelming challenges for the woman serving cross-culturally.” Coming as a delegate to this new-to-her ministry, Suraja was very grateful to hear the words, “Welcome, we are glad you have arrived safely.” She said, “I am deeply touched by the mutual love and prayers the volunteers have for each other.”
For many years, Thrive has dreamt that other sending nations would begin to come alongside their cross-cultural workers with a similar but culturally appropriate model of care. May these delegates catch a vision for what God has for their sending countries and agencies and may He build the ministry that would best serve those who serve Him around the world.
