Chris Tomlin’s song is our prayer for every lady. “Open up the skies of mercy and rain down the cleansing flood. Healing waters rise around us and hear our cries, Lord and let them rise. And it’s Your kindness Lord that leads us to repentance. Your favor, Lord is our desire. And may your beauty Lord make us stand in silence and (re-believe that) Your love, your love is better than life. Help us feel Your mercy falling, You are turning our hearts back again. Hear our praises, rise to heaven and draw us near Lord and meet us here.

Moms will be moms no matter which country, adopted kids or biological.  Their heart’s cry is that their children have an intimate, personal walk with the Lord.  Often the journey there is fraught with mistakes, pain, consequences and anxiety, made harder to bear by the distance.  Second guessing hard decisions made when kids were young (due to ministry location, educational options or even just answering the call to be a Global Woman) is not uncommon.  Lord, teach these women how to intercede for their children.  Help them to not blame themselves for things that go wrong in their kids’ lives.  Redeem mistakes made, and release them from guilt.  Give them strength to forgive their kids for anything they have done to hurt or disappoint them.  Empower them to forgive anyone who has hurt their kids in any way.  Enable them to forgive themselves for any time they feel that they have not been the perfect parent.  Grant them faith to believe and patience to wait for the answers. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
