Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love… May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us. (Psalm 91:12,14,17)

Attendees: Sandy, Barbara and Kimberly

When one lives a significant portion of your life overseas in ministry, the thought of returning to your passport country (debatable whether you consider it ‘home’ or not) can cause a myriad of emotions and practical issues. Retirement is a loaded word with lots of expectations. Lord, we ask for provision of their needs. Help them find their place within their extended family, a new place to connect, serve and make friends. Grant them insight, grace and patience as they enter into this next chapter of their lives – once again a cultural re-entry.

We also ask for your blessing as these women desire to be great grandparents long distance – grant them creativity and connection with the kids. When Stateside, bless the reunions with laughter and significant memories. Comfort both sides when good-byes roll around again.

Father, this is the last day of the first retreat, and our hearts are full.  Pour out your Spirit of freedom, healing and hope and surround the women with your protection and blessing as they return home, and the next group begins to make their way to the hotel.  We ask that you strengthen and encourage the volunteer team during their short 24 hour turn-around – grant them supernatural love, health and anticipation for the retreat to begin.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
