For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (II Corinthians 10:3-5).

Attendees:  Holly, Gloria and Lori

We pray that the retreat be a sanctuary of rest from this warfare.  Lord, guide, protect and convict attendees when sin is trying to take root. Strengthen them in battle when Satan attempts to gain a foothold in their hearts. Through Your Spirit, make them sensitive to enemy encroachment; may they run to You to be their stronghold and refuge in time of trouble. May the cry of their heart be “cleanse me from secret faults” (Psalm 19:12).  Deliver them from every evil work and preserve them for Your heavenly kingdom.

As a team, we ask for the covering of Jesus’ name to protect us from any attempt of the devil interfering in the work You want to accomplish in and through us.

Throughout the years, Kenya has been seen as one of the more stable countries of East Africa, yet like its neighbors, pervasive corruption in the highest levels keeps it from realizing its potential. A huge national debt, the marginalization of non-ruling ethnic groups and the spread of HIV/AIDS does not make for a bright future. Yet the possibility of major changes exist as over 35% of the people claim to be evangelical. In spite of nominalism within the Protestant church, many believers are making a difference and can be found in all levels of government, commerce and relief and compassion work. Pray for the equipping of Kenyan believers to be godly influencers in their country as they face incredible challenges and become a pivotal player in reaching the continent for Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
