Today we pray for…

Thrive staff: Lorrie and Leigh

The Lord God is with you, he is mighty to save.  He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing (Zephaniah 3:17).

Inner beauty is down played in many of the countries where these ladies are serving.  Abba, would you affirm their unique beauty. Give them strength to combat the lies of Satan, accept your delight in them, and rest in your love.  Help them be disciplined and creative as they care for their bodies, work at being healthy and fit while dealing with stress and transition (and eating out a ton while traveling, meeting with people – not to mention cravings for things they haven’t had for awhile!) Help them find a balance in it all.

We also commit to you Lorrie and Leigh and ask for favor in the hotel staff’s eyes as they work through many logistics. Grant them strength, grace, and wisdom as they work to develop a unified team of volunteers. Lord, our desire is that the team be Spirit led, and that all you want to accomplish in and through each of them will be done. We claim Jesus’ name against any spiritual attack.

Papua New Guinea, just north of Australia, with 830 languages lays claim to have 20% of the world’s languages. No wonder Wycliffe and New Tribes have large bases on the island. The sheer ethnic diversity and geographic isolation of so many groups makes reaching the inhabitants of PNG one of the greatest challenges in cross-cultural work. Pray for those who are involved in translating the Bible for the many language groups, from scholars to national language helpers. Also lift up the efforts to communicate the gospel in a way that is understandable and relevant to the lives of the people of Papua New Guinea.
