Today we pray for…

Retreat attendee: Kathy

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ (II Corinthians 10 :3-5).

We pray that the retreat be a sanctuary of rest from this warfare. We ask that You guide, protect, and convict them when sin is trying to take root. Strengthen them in battle when Satan attempts to gain a foothold in their hearts. Through Your Spirit, make them sensitive to enemy encroachment; may they run to You to be their stronghold and refuge in time of trouble. May the cry of their heart be “cleanse me from secret faults” (Psalm 19:12).  Deliver them from every evil work and preserve them for Your heavenly kingdom. Give them strength to combat the lies that infiltrate their thoughts, and replace them with Your truth.

We praise you Lord for the growth of the church in Indonesia over the past 40 years.  Thank you that the harsh extremism of Islamists has repelled many moderate Muslims. We are grateful that when the government mandated each citizen adhere to one of the five recognized religions, it encouraged many animists to consider the claims of the gospel.  Lord, we thank you that the lives of committed Christians, prayer and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit have brought about fruit.  We pray against ancient and powerful occult powers in the country and ask for continued growth of your Church.  We also pray against the Islamization of Indonesia that has claimed the lives of many believers and seen hundreds of churches destroyed.  Father, please continue to raise up godly leadership, effective teaching and a growing cross-cultural worker vision.  Protect your Church.  We ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
