Today we pray for…

Retreat attendees: Erin, Rachel

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.  Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts (Colossians 3:12-15).

Lord, we ask that Your Spirit will reveal any areas of unforgiveness among your workers. We battle an enemy who uses relational wounds to divide us in our goal of seeing Your Kingdom expanded. We pray against unforgiveness between team members, but also against any event (a theft, injury, or some sort of violation) that may stir up feelings of discontent, anger or even hatred toward a person or worse yet, a culture. Holy Spirit, do Your work in each of the ladies to bring about reconciliation and clean hearts before You.

Thailand means Land of the Free which is tragically ironic as the country is known for the rampant corruption that permeates society. Child abuse via prostitution and slavery plagues the country. Over 90% of the population is Buddhist, whose social and cultural web makes it very difficult to follow Jesus without family consequences. Church growth has occurred largely among those of Chinese descendants. We pray that the church and its leadership would be lights of truth and boldly confront the social ills of the country. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
