Morning Joy

I took this picture while working a second time at a field hospital after Haiti’s big earthquake in 2010. A security wall reduced to rubble did not keep this bit of God’s wonderful creation from flowering as it was created to do. The quake tore down many walls and not just physical ones. The Lord used the quake to turn people’s thoughts to Him. Many joined the family of God following the quake. Many Christians with only God strengthened their faith knowing that the Lord is the only thing in this life that remains true, unchanging. Trouble and rubble fill this life in many ways but He will bring joy in the morning.

About the author

My husband Cory and I call Haiti home. I am a family practice doctor by training, however most of my ministry falls under the heading ‘teacher’ as I taught medical staff before moving to a remote area. Since moving, homeschooling my kids, Eli and Anna, has become my primary role. After the earthquake, the Lord led me to compile basic health information into a book [funny as I'm dyslexic and can't spell well in any language]. I enjoy connecting with and encouraging others serving overseas and remain thankful to the Lord for my unique life.
