These little beauties are everywhere and in every market!  And they smell amazing as the flies swarm on hot days!  OK, not really true about the smell.  But fish are a staple here and are eaten more than any other meat.  I have yet to figure out why they are wrapped around into circles to sell, but each little rickety stand has small piles of fish ready for the next lucky customer!

  • When I saw this picture I thought to myself, I’ve seen, smelled and eaten this ‘picture’. We lived in CI for 20 years and still have our house there in Yamo. We have a work in a fishing village called Gbegbessou as well as several other projects. It was so good to see something from home because we are currently in Belgium but come and go to CI. Thanks for sharing. Barbara Downs
