Staff Offsite & Christmas Party

Last Wednesday we had a staff offsite day. It was wonderful to have our staff team together for a day of fun! April and Kristy were able to fly in from Minnesota to join us. We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast together. It was a time of wonderful food and great conversation, punctuated by lots of laughter.

The day was a brisk one, but we still enjoyed an hour of ice skating. Some of us had never skated before. There were a few falls, some new figure skating moves invented and named, and thankfully no injuries. After ice skating we went to Lorrie’s house and enjoyed hot chocolate, chai tea, and “krumkake.” We had a wonderful teacher as we made Christmas centerpieces. After a delicious lunch we went and saw the movie “Frozen” together. We were grateful for the time together as a team outside of the hustle and bustle of the office.

Last Thursday we also enjoyed our staff Christmas dinner. Lorrie spent the day preparing a fabulous meal served in her beautifully decorated dining room. We enjoyed time together as a staff with our spouses. During dinner we conversed and shared our Christmas plans. After dinner we all shared cards of gratitude that we had made to honor Lorrie. It was a wonderful time for us to recognize how God has used Lorrie in our lives personally and as she leads Thrive. We also spent time sharing things we had seen God do in our own lives this year for which we are grateful. It was a sweet time of recognizing God’s amazing provision for each of our lives.
