Everyone on the 2013 SE Asia Thrive Retreat Team arrived in Bali by Thursday afternoon. Traveling for many, many hours did not dampen anyone’s excitement to be  serve on this team. Our speaker, Sue Eenigenburg, came from the shortest distance, India, where she lives and serves. The rest of us came from all over the United States.

Some of us have been on volunteer teams before and know we’re in for an amazing treat as we serve our retreat guests. The women on our team who are new have heard accounts of God working through the volunteer team to encourage and strengthen our attendees. Together we are full of hope for what God will do in and through us over the next thirteen days to bless North American Women who serve cross-culturally in this region of the world.

Our team will gather for the first time tonight for a welcome meeting and then supper. Over the next few days, we’ll bond as we worship, pray, train and prepare for the retreats. By the time we leave for home, we’ll have become family to each other, but that’s the end of the story! Our  adventure has only just begun! So, please, don’t let me get ahead of myself!
