2 Corinthians 9:13-15 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

Please pray today for retreat attendees, Heidi and Melanie.

Dear Heavenly Father,

You have brought the volunteers to the furlough retreat to fill many roles. Today we pray for the pampering teams who will give your love to the attendees through excellent massages, beautiful haircuts and extreme foot-washing pedicures. They will have many opportunities to lovingly touch and care for the missionaries while prayerfully listening and holding close their stories. Please bless the work of their hands. May the hairstyles meet the expectations of the attendees, may the massage bring relief to tired bodies, and may the pedicure room be an opportunity for one-on-one connections, prayer and pampering. May these and the opportunities to pick out new clothes, exercise, hike the trails, or read a new book bring rest and refreshment to the women with a reminder that you not only love their minds, hearts and spirits, but you also love their bodies and desire that they care for themselves.

In Jesus name,

Amen

About the author

As a former missionary and current pastor's wife, Jill thrives when she is able to come alongside missionaries. Her ministry with PD Ministries and Thrive allows Jill to use her organizational and leadership skills as well as her flair for beauty to encourage missionary women. Jill loves to get away with her husband to mountain top retreats and to visit her far-away grandchildren. Her adventurous spirit has taken her para sailing, scuba diving, she has eaten strange foods like scorpions and crickets, and traversed the Amazon's Chanchamayo River. Her creativity shows itself in her pottery and her spirit is renewed by reading, keeping a quiet heart, and coming alongside others as a teacher, coach, mentor and friend. She says, " I get ecstatic watching God speak in specific situations and issues through His Word and resolve challenges in a way that makes it clear HE's at work! It is exciting to watch His Word literally come alive in the midst of very real concerns."
