Day 2 | 30 Days of Prayer | Colorado Furlough
Mark 11: 23-24 Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Today, please pray for retreat attendees Rosemary, Pam and Sarah, and retreat staff, Joan and Diane (volunteers).
Dear Heavenly Father,
On July 2nd, North American Women who serve cross-culturally overseas will be gathering at Iverness Hotel and Conference Center in Denver, Colorado, to attend the Thrive Furlough Retreat. May this furlough retreat be a special time for them to come away with You to find rest and refreshment.
These women are in the States to report to their sending churches and agencies about their work overseas. They hope to enjoy special times with family and friends. Many of them will be crisscrossing this country in a vehicle with their children, staying in people’s homes and eating at many people’s dining room tables, while also speaking to interested groups and raising awareness of prayer and support needs. Their time in the states, their “furlough,” will not be a vacation or restful—it may even be more stressful than their lives overseas.
We ask, dear Father, that you use the furlough retreat to provide an oasis of peace, calm and rest for them. Please use the time to encourage their faith and meet the heart needs they are bringing with them to the retreat.
In Jesus Name,

As a former missionary and current pastor's wife, Jill thrives when she is able to come alongside missionaries. Her ministry with PD Ministries and Thrive allows Jill to use her organizational and leadership skills as well as her flair for beauty to encourage missionary women. Jill loves to get away with her husband to mountain top retreats and to visit her far-away grandchildren. Her adventurous spirit has taken her para sailing, scuba diving, she has eaten strange foods like scorpions and crickets, and traversed the Amazon's Chanchamayo River. Her creativity shows itself in her pottery and her spirit is renewed by reading, keeping a quiet heart, and coming alongside others as a teacher, coach, mentor and friend. She says, " I get ecstatic watching God speak in specific situations and issues through His Word and resolve challenges in a way that makes it clear HE's at work! It is exciting to watch His Word literally come alive in the midst of very real concerns."View all articles by: Jill Seifried and Linda Swanson
