Matthew 21: 21-23 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Today, please pray for retreat attendees Vonda, Emily and Debby
and retreat staff Lorrie Lindgren (Thrive)

Dear Father,

For the next thirty days, we have the privilege of praying for the Furlough Retreat Thrive will be hosting for one hundred North American Women who serve cross-culturally overseas. The retreat will be at the Iverness Hotel and Conference Center in Denver, Colorado July 2-5. Thrive hopes to provide encouragement to our guests to persevere in their ministries through spiritual, physical and emotional refreshment at the retreat. With your help, we will do that by:

  • Reminding women of their true identity as beloved daughters of the King
  • Providing spiritual refreshment through fellowship, study of the Word, intercession, rest
  • Demonstrating His lavish love by showering them with gifts, beauty treatments, healthy physical touch, fun and laughter
  • Creating a safe environment through a warm welcome, assimilation, a haven environment, listening and counseling
  • Facilitating connection in the context of their small group, multi-organization interactions, and time with others who “get their life”

We commit the retreat and these goals to You, Father. Please help each one who is coming to the retreat with the refreshment they need.

About the author

As a former missionary and current pastor's wife, Jill thrives when she is able to come alongside missionaries. Her ministry with PD Ministries and Thrive allows Jill to use her organizational and leadership skills as well as her flair for beauty to encourage missionary women. Jill loves to get away with her husband to mountain top retreats and to visit her far-away grandchildren. Her adventurous spirit has taken her para sailing, scuba diving, she has eaten strange foods like scorpions and crickets, and traversed the Amazon's Chanchamayo River. Her creativity shows itself in her pottery and her spirit is renewed by reading, keeping a quiet heart, and coming alongside others as a teacher, coach, mentor and friend. She says, " I get ecstatic watching God speak in specific situations and issues through His Word and resolve challenges in a way that makes it clear HE's at work! It is exciting to watch His Word literally come alive in the midst of very real concerns."
