Global Woman Highlight | Melanie Elden

My name is Melanie Elden. I have been a member of Wycliffe Bible Translators since 2002. I am based in Nairobi, Kenya and travel as needed for two different positions. For our entity in the Democratic Republic of Congo, I coordinate classes and workshops for our Congolese colleagues. This training enables them to advance Bible translation into their mother tongues.

At present, I would also appreciate prayer for both logistics and relationships as I make connections with people and churches. I want to effectively share the vision of Bible translation and Scripture engagement.a member of Wycliffe Bible Translators since 2002. I am also looking forward to a part time Scripture use internship where I will be taking inventory of the Kenyan language projects. I anticipate researching the number of churches established in each language group. An inventory will be taken of materials that have been published and made available to the churches such as books of the Bible, the “Jesus” film, and song books etc.

When I return to the field, I would appreciate prayer for identfying each of the churches and their root needs; that we would find practical ways to make the Scriptures available to them in their own languages and that their hearts would be ready to receive and share the Scripture. We desire that God would use it to transform the lives that need to be reconciled unto Him. Please pray for clear communication as I correspond in French.
