TODAY WE PRAY FOR A SPIRIT OF JOY

You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11).

Father, for Rebecca and Kristi, and all the attendees, may the spirit of joy rise up often in their hearts as they are in Your presence. Awaken their desire and love for You. Whenever they are overtaken by negative emotions, surround them with Your love. Deliver them from despair, depression, loneliness, discouragement, anger or rejection. Plant Your Word firmly in their hearts and refresh their faith. Quiet their spirits, may they hear a word from You, bring calm into their chaos. Fill them with wonder. May the joy of the Lord be their strength as they return home.

Lord, you know that many singles on the field would rather be married. We ask for their contentment while they are single, as well as wisdom in decisions about pursuing particular relationships or leaving the field. We also know that they tend to have multiple housemates with many new adjustments and goodbyes; help them to give each one their “all” and enjoy deep friendships as well as extend and receive grace in the inevitable conflicts that arise. We pray that they feel they are a significant and valued player on their mission teams. During times of isolation and loneliness, help them to lean deeply into Your arms and experience intimacy in Your presence and love. Protect them from pursuing false intimacy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
