TODAY WE PRAY FOR UNITY AND INTIMACY IN MARRIAGES

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you (Ephesians 4:29, 32).

Lord, we ask for unity and intimacy in the women’s marriages. During transition and stress – may grace abound. In the midst of child rearing and work, we ask that they keep their marriage a priority. Father, may the wives feel nurtured and valued. Protect them from becoming disconnected emotionally. May they guard some intentional energy to be creatively committed to one another. Lord, would you convict and sensitize the men who tend to be workaholics, and/or travel extensively to truly be “present” when they are home. May they be faithful to one another. We ask that You provide safe babysitters so that the couple can get away together. Lord, we also ask for mutual sensitivity to the Holy Spirit as to the confirmation and direction of their “calling;” may Satan not cause disunity. Our counselors are available to listen, so may they take advantage of them, to be heard and valued.

Thank you that Ellen and Kathy are able to enjoy the retreat. During their time, affirm that they are seen, valued,, heard and touched appropriately with love. We want this time to be an oasis in the desert for them to be rejuvenated, refreshed and nourished. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
