TODAY WE PRAY FOR ATTENDEES’ MARRIAGES AND FOR OUR VOLUNTEER COUNSELORS

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another (John 13:34, 35).

Father God, cause each of these women to honor their marriage and remain faithful in every way. Help them to love one another as You love them so that their relationship will point others to You. Holy One, we also ask that You protect each woman from every kind of impurity. Enable them to resist the compromises that may be present in the surrounding culture. Holy Spirit if any of the ladies are experiencing the unexpected journey of walking through the valley of their husband’s sexual brokenness and are living with feelings of distrust, shame, fear, anger, betrayal, and grief, please guide them to the path of healing and healthy sexuality. Grant them courage to share their pain with someone during the retreat. Our counselors are on site to listen and to be a safe place for the ladies to unload and share their burdens.

Lord, today we want to ask for Your special blessing for our counselors Elisabeth, Christine, Sonia and Sue – prepare their hearts and lives for the task awaiting them. Lead them to connect quickly and deeply with the women; empower their listening, understanding, compassion, touch and words. Pour out your wisdom, discernment and insight. Let each counselor be highly sensitive and responsive to the leading of the Spirit. Our prayer is that the women feel heard and loved; leave with hope, some healing, new insights and resources. We desire each encounter to be glorifying to You. Thank you for all that You will do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
