Like the Samaritan woman
I come
With my empty vessel
To draw water from the well

And the Savior
Who should despise me
For the darkness of my life
And the dullness of my heart

Patiently awaits my coming
Declines to accuse
Refuses to debate
Sees my deepest need
Lays bare my secret sin
Presents the reality of Himself
And offers the Water of Life

Like that woman long ago
May I taste
No – deeply drink
And then run
To tell the ones
Who do not know.
