Today we pray for…
Attendees: Michelle, Jennifer, and Kathryn
Holy, Father, protect them by the power of your name – the name you gave me – so that they may be one as we are one. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth (John 17:11b, 15, 17).
Father God, cause each of these women to honor their marriage and remain faithful to each other in every way. Help them to love one another as You love them so that their relationship will point others to You. Holy One, we also ask that You protect each woman from every kind of impurity. Enable them to resist the compromises that may be present in the surrounding culture. Holy Spirit, if any of the ladies are experiencing the unexpected journey of walking through the valley of their husband’s sexual brokenness and are living with feelings of distrust, shame, fear, anger, betrayal and grief, please guide them to the path of healing and healthy sexuality. Grant them courage to share their pain with someone during the retreat. Our counselors are onsite to listen and be a safe place for the ladies to unload and share their burdens.
Lord, we ask that you give the couples energy, desire, unity, and intentionality to continue to invest in the growth of their marriage. Help them combat subtle isolation. May they have someone with whom they can share their journey, be encouraged, and be accountable.
Thank you Lord that the church in Colombia is growing rapidly in a climate of crime, lawlessness, terror, and murder. The Evangelical success can often make leaders targets for violence, as growing churches are seen as a threat to whatever groups controls the area. Many church leaders have been martyred because of this and many others have fled the country. We pray Father that You provide new leaders and work to bring about unity in many church divisions. Give the global workers there your grace and wisdom as they live under tremendous stress and constant threat of kidnapping and murder. We pray for their courage and faithfulness to their calling.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
