Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding.   In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:4-5)

We praise You, Lord, for the 21 women coming to Tanzania as volunteers to minister to the Global Women attending. They are all living out their faith as they raise the funds necessary to go and figure out all the logistics for the time while they are gone.  Father, we pray You will provide the support needed for every staff member (especially for those who decided to come at the last minute!), as well as the sponsors for each of the Global Women. Prepare their hearts to be expanded and challenged in ways they can’t imagine. Keep them healthy. You are the owner of all things and delight in affirming the value of these Global Women through the retreat experience.

We thank you Father that Malawi continues to be the most spiritually-receptive country in central Africa.  We ask that the nation may be led by leaders of integrity and that the new democracy may lead to the improved well-being of the people.  The growth of Islam is a major challenge.  AIDS is a terrible, but under-reported scourge.  Life expectancy has been cut to 43, and there are up to 400,000 AIDS orphans.  The health of the social community, the economy and even the state are threatened.   We pray that the church will maintain an effective ministry in the midst of deep poverty and for training new workers for the spiritually weak rural churches – few can afford the training or the subsequent support.  We ask for an adequate supply of quality reading material for the literate, growing, but poor church. We pray that churches might be equipped to help during these challenging times.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
