Don’t be afraid for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty you will not drown…For I am the Lord your God…you are precious to me….and I love you (Isaiah 43:1-4).
How exciting that Kelly, Paula, Janice, and Sarah are in for three special days at the retreat! Give them rest, and an acute ability to focus and receive all that You have for them.
Lord, we want to lift up to You the women dealing with various illnesses. Chronic fatigue syndrome, cancer, migraines, stomach issues and allergies are not uncommon on the field. Enable them to maintain a balance and joy while living day-to-day ministering to their families and nationals. Please be there in the discouraging, painful times when it seems like it is too much to deal with. For those who are mourning about a new diagnosis confronting a family member or friend in the States, we ask for Your comfort, as they are far away and are not able to grieve in community.
Lord, for those in remote areas, we ask that You give them wisdom and insight as to when to call the “911” for a medical emergency (as in having a mission aviation helicopter or plane come in to evacuate them). You know how expensive a call like that is to make, and yet also know when it is needed. We ask for special grace when the call is in regards to one of their children.
India has long been one of the most fascinating countries in the world. Second only to China in population, it dominates south Asia and the Indian Ocean. Though its constitution allows religious freedom, Hindu extremists have been waging a war of hate against Muslims and Christians in the past decade. Yet the Holy Spirit continues to raise Indian Christians who have had a tremendous impact on the social and religious fabric of this country. We pray that this flowering of Christian leadership would continue to grow as well as church movements that are underway.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
