Retreating: It’s a time for women to come and unplug from life for a few days to get recharged. A safe place to be real, authentic, and transparent with one another. And honest with God. A place where their needs can be met–whether physical, emotional, or spiritual.
The following attendees have been impacted by the Thrive retreat in Italy in a variety of ways:
“I haven’t gotten my hair cut in over a year. I feel like a new woman! What’s next on my agenda?” With a broad smile on her face, Casey moved on to her next self-care appointment.
Judy doesn’t like to cook. Now that she is living overseas, she finds herself snacking and eating out more than she used to. She hasn’t felt good about herself for some time and has wanted help to change her lifestyle. When she arrived at the Thrive retreat she was thrilled to discover one of the volunteers was a registered dietician and she could make an appointment to meet with her.
I also had a moment to talk with Meredith, and I asked her about her afternoon plans. “I wasn’t sure I needed a counselor, but I hated to turn down the chance to talk to one. We talked for a solid hour and it was so affirming. I guess I did need some outside input. So, in hindsight, I’m thankful I stepped outside my comfort zone for help I didn’t know I needed. It’s been a long time since I have felt this loved and cared about.”
So many women have expressed, in one way or another, “I can’t believe I get to be here. I’m so grateful.”
