Today we pray for…
Attendees: Deb, Ellie, Hilary, Sue, and Terina
It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep. Psalm 127:2
There are always more things to do and people/children to care for than hours/energy in a day. Father, we pray that these ladies invite You into their chaos, schedules, and relationships on a daily basis. Even if in spurts, may Your Word and thanksgiving be a part of their day. Soften their hearts, keep them tender toward You. Guard them from having judgmental and critical spirits. Give them ears to hear Your voice and experience the intimacy of Your presence. May they learn to enter into Your REST (emotional, spiritual, and physical). Empower them to walk in obedience in step with Your Spirit. May they feel revived at the retreat, laugh much, and return home more connected to You.
Sudan is Africa’s largest country. Thank You, Lord, that due to the long and terrible warfare, Christians have spread all around the country, leading to a multiplication of congregations in areas of many unreached peoples. Sudan’s civil war has been one of the world’s longest conflicts in the 20th Century. We pray for peace and the formation of a viable multi-cultural, multi-religious society. Lord, we pray that commitment to Jesus will increase despite aching needs and terrible suffering. We also ask for a unity that transcends tribal boundaries and battle lines.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
