Today we pray…
We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Romans 5:4-5
As the attendees arrive home and the volunteers debrief, Holy Spirit to continue to flow unhindered in and through each woman. Help each one to embrace the paradoxes of life with you. Where there is darkness, bring light; confusion, clarity; fear, calm; anger, peace; resentment, forgiveness; wounds, healing; exhaustion, rest; weakness, strength; strongholds, freedom; lethargies, energy. Grant them faith when they are to live with both the negative and positive, or what can feel like long periods of time in the negative. Free them from being slaves to “comfort”. Reveal Yourself to them and enable them to live with a clearer eternal perspective. May You fill them with a renewed sense of hope, faith, being deeply known and loved, and a new vision as they return home.
Thank You Lord that Uganda is the first country in the world to cut their massive AIDS problem in half! Both government and churches faced up to the terrible calamity and have successfully worked to achieve this reduction. We praise You for the renewed revival from 1986 onwards. We ask You Lord for the church’s loving unity, continued renewal, and training up of a new generation of leaders. We pray for effective youth programs in churches that will raise up a new generation of followers in You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
