Today we pray…
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles (Acts 2:42-43).
Dear Heavenly Father,
We are thankful you know our comings and goings, our arrivals and departures, and have planned our days. You know when the attendees will be arriving and where they are coming from. Please help the volunteers to welcome them well and help them to settle in and feel at home during their four days at the retreat.
Women will be coming to the retreat from varied backgrounds and places of service, as well as length of time they’ve been Stateside and away from their work. Please help that first smile of greeting ease any nervousness they might be feeling and help connect them with new friends. Please teach the volunteers how to be present and care for these precious women attendees and may they love them with Your sweet love.
We look forward to seeing how You will use the teaching and fellowship, wonderful meals, and special prayer and pampering times to encourage each of our hearts.
We want to praise you, Lord, for the dramatic growth in the number of evangelical churches in the Philippines in the last 30 years and for their increased spiritual unity. We are excited about the 300,000-plus Filipino intercessors who have committed themselves to pray for the nation. As the Filipino Evangelicals have multiplied so, too, have the challenges. We pray for the spiritual health of the church. We ask that there be solid discipleship for the new believers and pray against complacency and second-generation nominalism. We praise you that training and discipling of new leaders is a priority, and we thank you, Lord, for many Filipino leaders with national and international influence. We thank you also that they have become a significant sending church.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
