Today we pray for Volunteers: Amanda, Francoise, Cheryl, Wanda, Mary
Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! (2 Corinthians 9:13-15)
Dear Heavenly Father,
You created us to be kind and caring to one another. Healing often comes through loving acts of kindness. Today we pray for the pampering teams who will give Your love to the attendees through excellent massages, beautiful haircuts and extreme foot-washing pedicures. They will have many opportunities to lovingly touch and care for the attendees while prayerfully listening and carefully holding their stories.
Please bless the work of their hands. May the hairstyles meet the expectations of the attendees, may the massage bring relief to tired bodies, and may the pedicure room be an opportunity for one-on-one connections, prayer and fun conversations. May these and the opportunities to have their colors and make-up done, exercise, or read a new book bring rest and refreshment to the women with a reminder that You not only love their minds, hearts and spirits, but You also love their bodies and desire that they care for themselves.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Attendee Country of Service Prayer Focus Nation: Uganda
Challenges for Prayer:
Uganda has worked hard to recover from the devastation of the Amin and Obote years and has made great strides to this effect. Pray for peace both regionally (Congo-DRC, Kenya, Sudan, Horn of Africa) and internally (Lord’s Resistance Army). Pray that the government might exercise its authority with even-handed honesty and a true concern for its own people.
Christian support ministries:
a) The Bible Society has done much to promote new Bible translations and to publish Bibles, but sales are less than what they were in the 1980s. All Christian literature ministries are similarly crippled, but The Bible Society, Gideons and others distribute several hundred thousand Bibles and NTs every year. Thirteen languages remain without God’s Word and a further 18 have only part of the Bible. SIL is assisting in this ministry task. Pray for the provision of Scriptures to all, in their own language.
b) Audio Scriptures and teaching are vital due to poverty, illiteracy, the widespread oral culture and unstable conditions.
